One of the documents in the FCC filing offer a visual of the labeling that will be placed on the bottom of the machine. The FCC filing lists the model number as A2159. It is believed that Apple’s latest filing with the FCC is for this 13-inch MacBook Pro without a Touch Bar. Of course, it’s worth noting that Apple refreshed only those models with Touch Bars and not the non-Touch Bar 13-inch model. They’re offering free repairs for all the affected machines and hopefully the new solution will work. I’m glad to hear that despite this, they a) took the problem seriously, b) studied the problem carefully, c) tried to mitigate the existing issue with free repairs, and d) seem to have now arrived at a solution that works better. But as a whole, the 2018 MacBook Pro is a better laptop than its 2017 predecessor, and a vast improvement over the 2016 model. That is of course anecdotal and unscientific, but it lends credibility to the reports that a small percentage of owners (who are very understandably unhappy, I’m not dismissing their problem or frustration) are affected by this.
